The Deep Pit We Must All Avoid
“And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did,
causing 23,000 of them to die in one day.” – 1 Corinthians 10:8(NLT).
Some of the problems, hardships, pains, shame, and diseases suffered
by men and women could be traced to sexual immorality. Sexual immorality
has plunged many souls into the deep pit of destruction and perdition.
As harmless as it may seem, there is a great mystery behind it. It has
brought down many high flying destinies in a twinkle of an eye, and has
also hindered many from soaring to great heights.
Sexual appetite, one of strongest human appetites, has driven many
men and women to exhibit terrible and unimaginable behaviours, such as
murder, rape, etc. Never allow the devil to hijack the reins of your
sexual desires, because if he does, great ruins are inevitable.
Fornication, adultery, incest, prostitution, lust, bestiality, rape,
pornography, homosexuality, masturbation, and others are all works of
the flesh, which will ultimately lead to destruction.
Remember, what Balaam could not achieve through divination, he
achieved through sexual immorality in a single day (see Rev.2:14; 1
Corinthians 10:8).
The destruction embedded in sexual immorality is unquantifiable; it
is a deep pit we must all avoid. Do not toy with it, but rather choose
the wisest path - flee from it.
